Non-communicable diseases – such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and mental health disorders – are a major public health issue. It is estimated that they are responsible for 38 million deaths each year, almost three quarters of which occur in low and middle-income countries with limited access to healthcare.
We believe it is through collaboration that we can build a future where no one dies prematurely from a treatable, preventable disease.
In 2019, ECLEVAR joined Access Accelerated Initiative – together with 21 industry competitors and peers, the World Bank and the Union for International Cancer Control – to (UICC) fight for promoting health anywhere.
“ECLEVAR is committed to sustainable solutions that improve the lives of people with diabetes everywhere – children included. We believe that initiatives such as KiDS are also essential for promoting healthy living at an early age, potentially helping in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.”
